Molly Johnson

Head Coach

Coach Molly Johnson is a native of Mt.Pleasant, Texas where she attended Mt. Pleasant High School lettering all 4 years on the Varsity Basketball and Softball team. She is a 2023 inductee of the Tigers Athletic Hall of Fame. After high school, Molly received a scholarship to play softball at Division 1 Troy University in Troy, Alabama. She was a three year starter for the Trojans at second base. In her 4 years at Troy University, she received recognition for batting average, slugging percentage and home runs. Molly was voted Team Captain by her teammates her sophomore year and held that position through her senior season.

After graduating with a Psychology degree in 2004, Molly moved to Georgia with her husband J.R. where they have two children, Emma Claire and Riley. Riley was diagnosed with B Cell ALL Leukemia at age 5. After giving Riley her full attention and care for 5 years through his complete remission, she found her love for softball again working with young ladies through private lessons. Molly began working in Special Education, as well as, a Softball community coach at North Hall High School while earning her Masters in Special Education from Georgia College.

In 2023, she was named head coach of the Trojans Softball program.
